Today is my youngest son’s 12th birthday. In honor of him, I am listing 12 things I love about him! He was born April 9, 1998 at 10:56 a.m. 4 weeks premature.
- His smile
- His love for others
- His stubbornness (he gets this from me!)
- The way he will still holds my hand in public
- His blue eyes
- His need to be with his family
- His love for animals
- He wants to fight for our country and join the military
- His love for football
- His sense of humor
- His sensitive side
- His fight for life!
My wonderful, youngest son who fought for his first breath of air. You almost did not survive those first days of life. You spent ten days in intensive care and the first five in a ventilator. I did not get to hold you until that fifth day. You did not cry until almost six days. My beautiful preemie infant boy. You worried my so much during those first years of life. To look at you today, you would not know that you were ever in such distress. Breathing treatments, surfactant shots, RSV shots, and other things to keep you healthy. I thank God each and every day for you. You are my miracle baby! I love you so much!
Happy 12th Birthday, Caleb Kristopher Mixell. You are so very special to me!
